Cedar hot tub installation & maintenance
throughout the Hudson Valley
Hudson Valley Hot Tubs installs and maintains every cedar tub we build — from site assessment and delivery to seasonal service and water chemistry. The builder does the installation. Every county we serve, every time.
We install cedar hot tubs throughout Dutchess, Columbia, Greene, Ulster, Orange, Putnam, Westchester, and Sullivan counties. Every installation is performed by our team — the same people who built the tub.
Installation
Cedar hot tub installation requires more than setting a tub in place. The site must be properly leveled, plumbing and electrical connections need to meet code, and the tub needs to be positioned and filled correctly so the staves can swell and seat properly. We handle every step.
Because we build every tub ourselves, we know exactly how it needs to be installed. There is no guesswork, no third-party contractor, and no warranty gap between the builder and the installer.
- Site assessment and preparation guidance prior to delivery
- Delivery and placement on pad, deck, or grade
- Plumbing connections — jets, drain, fill lines
- Electrical hookup coordination (licensed electrician referrals available)
- Initial fill and water chemistry setup
- Owner walkthrough — operation, maintenance schedule, water care

Consultation & sizing
We discuss your site, usage, and preferences. We'll recommend the right size, finish, and equipment configuration.
Build & delivery
Your tub is built to order at our Tivoli workshop — typically 6–10 weeks from deposit. We coordinate delivery and installation.
Installation & setup
Our team installs the tub, connects plumbing and equipment, performs the initial fill, and walks you through everything you need to know.
Site requirements
Before installation day, your site needs to be ready. We discuss requirements at the consultation — but the basics are a level, load-bearing surface and access to water and electrical.
- Surface: Concrete pad, reinforced deck, or compacted gravel. Must be level and capable of supporting 2,000–4,000 lbs filled.
- Water access: Standard garden hose connection within reach of the tub location.
- Electrical: Dedicated 240V/50A circuit for jetted models. Non-jetted models can use 120V. We help you plan this at consultation.
- Access: Clear path for delivery truck and tub — typically 4 ft minimum width.

Common questions
Installation & maintenance
questions answered
How long does installation take?
Most installations are completed in a single day — typically 4–6 hours from delivery to first fill. Site prep and electrical may require separate coordination, which we help plan at consultation.
What does my site need before delivery?
A level, load-bearing surface — concrete pad, deck, or compacted gravel — and access to a water source and dedicated 240V electrical for jetted models. We walk you through exact requirements at consultation.
Are cedar hot tubs hard to maintain?
No. Basic water chemistry — pH, alkalinity, sanitizer — is all that's required weekly. We provide a full maintenance guide at installation and offer ongoing service if you prefer we handle it.
How often should I change the water?
Every 3 to 4 months with regular use. A full seasonal drain and refill twice a year keeps cedar in excellent condition.
Can you put Epsom salt in a cedar hot tub?
Yes, in moderation. Epsom salt is gentler on cedar than chlorine-heavy regimens. We advise on the right protocol at your installation consultation.
Do you service tubs you didn't build?
On a case-by-case basis. Contact us with details about your tub — brand, age, and the issue — and we'll let you know if we can help.
